Our New Remodeled Space!

We've added a new movie room in our basement, and a new bath! We have been remodeling over the Christmas break, and inbetween guests' visits during January. We are putting the finishes touches on the area this week. We wanted to add extra room so our guests have more options at the Inn--to relax, read a good book, watch a great movie from our extensive DVD collection, or just take a nap on the sofa in peace and quiet! After the Storms

It's a glorious day! The beautiful morning sky, brillantly lit with hues of pink and blue is astonishing to see after days of wind and rain. As I look toward the East, I see Mt. Hood filling the horizon in all her majesty. Funny how I forget the mountain is there when it's shrouded in clouds and fog and then I'm amazed when it appears, shining brightly as though it had not been there before. And now as I gaze toward the South, the trees are emerging from the early fog and the sun dances across the frosty blades of grass. My face can't seem to stop smiling at the wonder of it all... I recently heard a song written by Andy Hunter that describes it perfectly and have printed the words below... Amazing... Linda

You take me high above the world I see
Way beyond the cloud
Beautiful colours surround me
You show me dreams I never dreamt before
Unspeakable feelings evermore

Fly with me
Across the heavens
Feel the breeze
Above the skies
Come with me
Across the heavens
Spirit breathe

Every time I look into your eyes
Revelation eyes
Heavenly visions, paradise
I feel a love I've never felt before
You're so amazing...

Looking Forward to 2009

Wow! We had a fabulous 2008 and are now looking forward to an exciting 2009. We are in the process of remodeling our basement to add more flexibility for our guests. There will be a TV room for relaxing, and can also be used as a small meeting room. In addition, we're putting in a full bath and a kitchenette. We have been wanting to put new grass in our back yard and are experimenting with a drought tolerant grass. If it does well, we hope to seed the one acre field adjacent to the house. Another change you will see is in the lower nine acres where we have our walking paths. Our plans for raising tulips and daffodils was derailed due to a misunderstanding with Yamhill County's requirements for farming. We now are in the process of reforesting that area with fir trees, and have just planted the first two acres with 800 trees. It will take a while to notice a difference but we will eventually have a wonderful forest with pathways meandering through and benches to sit and sip a glass of wine, read a book or just enjoy the beautiful outdoors. We look forward to sharing another great year with all of our wonderful guests from around the world! Linda
