There's Nothing Like a Good Storm!

Wow! What a storm we had this past week. We had very little damage and hope you all got through it ok as well.

I was having lunch on the lawn in the hills of West Salem with some friends when we suddenly noticed that the sky had become VERY BLACK and thought perhaps we should move things inside and head home. I'm not sure I've seen such huge raindrops in the 30 years I've lived in Oregon! I was caught driving in the thick of the storm and made it to my son's home in Dayton to wait it out before venturing home to the B&B.

After things calmed down a bit, I headed out for my typically 30 minute drive... You guessed it! Traffic was snarled on Hwy 18/99W and almost two hours later I arrived home. There were tree limbs littering the driveway, backyard and our field but no major damage. Just as I settled into my recliner, we lost power! I located a lantern, candle, a good book and put my feet up to relax and enjoy the solitude.

Everything is now back to normal and preparing for another wonderful summer at The DreamGiver's Inn. Linda

Summer On The Way!

I don't know if there is a more beautiful spot than Oregon at this time of year! The grass is greener, the flowers more vibrant, and the trees more splendid than I've seen in quite some time. The grapevines in our neighbors vineyard seem to be growing before my eyes! I can only imagine the wine they will produce.

Recently I sat with guests enjoying the view, the wine and good conversation. I was reminded of days gone by when we enjoyed gatherings with extended family and friends where I grew up in Texas...lazy Sunday afternoons beneath a shade tree with plenty of food and tall tales. I'm looking forward to many more good conversations out on the lawn at the B&B this summer! Linda
